You are going to very disappointed if you travel from South Texas to Missouri for a hog hunt. Reverse these plans and you could have a good hunt.

I was reading on another forum that there was quite a few in Iron county. A guy had them on his trail cam. I'll check it again and see if they talked about public land. I do know that they used dogs.

I jsut checked the forum and they are mainly on private ground. However they did talk about Council Grove Lake, public? I don't know.
A new thread said that MDC has shot 100 by helicopter and have snared 200 hogs. They also stated that the hogs are spread out now and even hunting with dogs is getting tougher by the minute.

That is a sad thing, Was looking to heading North for some fellowship and hog hunting. PM me if there is something going.
Granger Ranger Xtreme Hunt is 6-8 March. One rule bring no food. Kill it , catch it, or find it to eat.

Ooooh, a subsistence hunt.....
I could stand to loose some weight.... It's only two days though.
Where's that one at?

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

They shot some hogs at Shell Osage wild life area just 30 minutes east of me. My friend that told me about that area died 4 months ago so I aint heard anything sense. I do know they really cracked down and shot some though on bait piles. Must not be many left or I would have heard something. You just missed Deer Season. I don't think it costs that much for out of state people to hunt turkeys in the spring here though. I think it starts April 15th better check though
