wood arrows and high performance bows

What spine woods arrows are you guys shooting from your high performance bows?
I'm currently shooting a 58" 55#@28 drawn 28" Centaur LB with the side padded out to 1/8 from center.
I want may arrows 29" BOP and a 73# spine with only 75gr up front seems to be the best I can come up with so far,is anybody else seeing the need for heavy spine??
Oh yea the string is a skinny one not sure of the material but I'm sure it's high performance
Thanx

On a centershot bow, you can shoot just about as high as you want/can find. Since you've built out the shelf, 70-75# should work for you with more weight up front, say 125-145. Have you tried heavier heads on those shafts? I did the same with my 52# ACS at my 28-inch draw. Can shoot arrows spined from 60 (just a tad weak) to 75-80#. Could probably shoot heavier if I had any.

when you shoot that new(-to you) Shrew, its likely going to need more spine than you think.....

SB, I have a 58", 54 lb @26" Lil Mag no carbon that shoots 26.5" 55-60's. Considering your arrow length, I'd say you are pretty close, maybe some 75-80's with a heavier point.

Definitly with any Hybrid Longbow usually you need to add anywhere from 15 to 20 lbs. in spine depending on length and type of woods. I shoot a 31" 85-90# spine arrow out of a 60# Shrew with 145 grains up front. Big Ed

With the shelf built out to 1/8" before center, I would thank that a 29" arrow and a fast flight string would get you around 65-69 or 70-74 with a 125 grain tip.

Douglas fir from
www.surewoodshafts.com
out of my cut-past-centre 80# @ 28" Silvertip, with fastflite string. They are 30" BOP, 105# in spine, wear a 160 grain STOS broadhead, and weigh 775 grains total. They can kill hogs, brumbies and camels.

Hi Bob! So you like those Surewoods? I just bought some from Bob. Then we tapered them, I stained them this morning and tonight the crown goes on. They are an impressive shaft those guys put out! I see no reason to buy anything else. 80# bow and 105# spined arrows! I have some Forgewood shafts that are 800gr. w/ 160gr. STOS heads...but only 85# spine weight.
