My serving matches my favorite nocks. (Bohning classics) If I use other nocks they seem to invariably be tighter so I gently open them with folded sandpaper.  I have done the heat and spread or squeeze closed  trick but I prefer  sanding.

I shoot CX Heritage shafts and like some I purchased nock adapters so I could glue on classic nocks. Im not sure what other brand arras the nock adapters will fit though. I want to eventually shoot some wood arras so I can use the same nock and shoot a mix of arras as I want to stump shoot with carbon.

I use a nail file to touch up the fit on all my nocks.  Take a peek in the throat of the nock.  It's pretty apparent whether you are filing down the snap button most nocks have in there or removing material from the side of the nock.

No, you aren't going to threaten the integrity of a nock by filing the snaps down.
