The 2009 Western States Traditional Rendezvous will be held at the Magic Mountain Ski Resort May 23 - 25. The resort is located a short 30 minute drive from Twin Falls, Idaho. The event will be hosted by the Idaho Tradional Bowhunters.

It's too bad the N.W.Traditional Archery Expo was scheduled for the same dates! They should hook up together.

Yea it is to bad. I would like to go to both but I don't think thats going to happen.
I attended the apple knocker shoot last year and it was awsome. Think I'll go to the Expo this year.

Does anyone know what bowyers and vendors will be attending the 2009 Western States Traditional Rendezvous?

I'm giving serious consideration to attending the WSTR. I'm still not sure, though. It's a rather long drive from here.

I should be there seeing how I am only about ten miles away.  Jesse, I hope you can make it down so we can shoot together.  I will be looking forward to meeting other TradGangers, as well - always good to put a face with a name.  As it draws near, perhaps we can set a time to all get together.

I would love to make this one as I'm only one state over. Keep us informed and maybe I can get there. God willing.

I may well be able to go to this one, unless it conflicts with the Oregon Bunny shoot?  Anyone hear anything about that?

I'm going.  I grew up there, so what better excuse than to go back home and meet fellow TradGangers!

Is it be just the show. Or will there be a shoot combined with it?

While there are usually some vendors there, it's not really a show. More like a camp. And, yes, there's a shooting course set up.

Look forward seeing ya'll. I like the idea of setting a time to meet. If all goes according to plan, I will be heading up on Friday the 22nd to set up my camp. Anytime Sat or Sun is good for me just let me know.

From what I gather reading the registration brochure, there will be plenty of shooting. It states, "Shoot 'til your arms fall off."

I fear that the NW Trad and Primitive Show in Hood River, OR  that is held that same weekend will have an adverse affect on vendors and attendance.  I looked at their vendor list and it includes Wes Wallace and others who usually attend Western States.  Is this the first year for this event?

We have so few trad evnts here in the NW (other than 3-D), it seems a shame that two premier happenings are going on at the same time.  The Western States has been an annual event at the same time for many years, so why would another event enter the competition?

I would say many that many people I have heard talking out here share in your question Lon. I hope it doesn't cause "divisions among the ranks" due to loyalties one way or another but it feels like it might.

These events together would be great! It will have an effect by splitting efforts.

I agree. This is WSTR 20th annual event so, it's not like its new. I would think that proper co-ordination by newer events would ensure that they had a max turnout. Holding an event the same time as one that has been around longer will cause a division and hence lower attendance for vedors. Just my $.02.
