WOWZERS!!!
« on: January 15, 2009, 12:39:00 PM »
I can't come up with any other words than WOWZERS!!!

I met a gentleman to buy a stand, and ended up ordering a bow from him, all on a quick 30 minute visit to pick up the stand!

The gentleman's name is Jim Gainey and he builds the Black Creek Bows. I can't say enough how much he impressed me, and was just a person who loves making bows, and wanting his customers to be happy.

He had a bow in his truck and showed it to me, and I was so impressed I gave him a deposit on the spot to build me a "Banshee" to my specs.

I'm glad I did. It shoot great; plenty of power, and shoots where I'm looking.

Bacote riser with redwood stripes, bamboo limbs with Honduras rosewood veneers, Bacote tips. 54" 60@28"

I'll let the pictures talk.

Thanks gentlemen!! It's been so busy here with other things, I haven't had time to hunt or shoot the bow but twice. Hopefully that will change.

Brian, is your birthday coming up?

I shot one of those at ATAR last year. Most impressive bow! I was shooting with Brent Rudolph, and he said, "Wait here a minute while I go get a bow...you gotta try this!" He went to a nearby vendor and came back with a Banshee. Left handed, of course. I put my brain into mirror mode and managed to hit the bag with it. Very smooth, and quick for its weight. I hope to shoot one (right handed!) again this July.

Yep some fine people here, and David is about as good as they come.  I hope we actually get to meet in person some day.  If we do, I hope Papa's College Custard is opened back up when we do.  LOL!!

Thanks all!!!

Jim doesn't have a website to my knowledge and had his bows with John at Sipsey River Traditional Archery. Now that John recently retired, I'm not sure the new owner is carrying the bows.
Just from meeting Jim, talking to him on the phone multiple times, his reputation heard from others, and liking him so much, I'd attempt to do a website just to help him out, IF I knew anything about websites..... I don't though.   :banghead:

Brian, still shooting the Morrison Shawnee, and don't plan on ever getting rid of it. I only have 3 bows now. The Shawnee, the Cheyenne recurve, and the Banshee. AND, it would be my honor as well to sit down with you and the family, and share some stories and time.

If anyone needs Jim's, number, email me, and I'll be happy to pass it on.

Thanks again for sharing in my excitement!!!

God Bless, David B.
