I have a great northern quiver with leather hood, in tan color and would like to change it to black or a grey to kinda match my greybark bow, what is the best way? I assume the stitching would also have to take on that color? be cool if it didnt .. thanks Dave

I dyed a Selway rawhide quiver using the black rite dye. Soaked it it the mixture and wiped it down a few times with a clean cloth till the color was were I wanted it. After it dried (gets kind of soft) I then used a paste wax to seal it up. Worked great.

Go to your local shoe repair shop and inquire. They usually carry some quality dyes in various colors and can give you tips too.

Any of the aniline dyes would work (Tandy , Feibings) but what you have to be careful of is any dressing or oils that were applied to the quiver before. Generally the aniline dyes will cut thru it but you may have to "degrease" it first. Both companies sell something for that, but I would think a good cleaning with mineral spirits would suffice.
