I have one of the original style "Classics", Bubinga and Maple.
You can't get a better bow than a Predator.  Others might be as good but not better.  As with any bow, you should try to shoot one before buying it.  Fit and feel is most important.  If I had one complaint about a Predator it would be that the shelf is cut so low that with the way I grip it I get feather cut very often.  One day I will bolster up the rug rest to alleviate that problem.

Finally got a good pic of mine. It's a custom classic, with tulipwood riser and limbs.

The throat is actually very narrow and creates a nearly torque-free hold.  One of the very best bows out there....balance is wonderful.

Hatrick, just be sure you get limbs that were manufactured after 1995. '95 and before won't work on post '95 risers, as per Mike at huntersniche(Predator Bows).

Oh my, Brad, that's purdy! That tulipwood is my favorite wood, along with osage.

Did you have that custom made? The shelf appears to be higher than most that I have seen. If they will make it that way, I will order the next one with the higher shelf. That is my only complaint with a Predator, the shelf is too close to my hand. On mine I put a weatherest on to move the arrow off my hand.

ishoot4thrills, thanks for the heads up on the pre-95 limbs. I did sell the 62" limbs but will keep an eye out for newer 58-60" limbs in the 45-48 pound range.          Dave

I'm waiting on a string for mine right now. After I get it, I'll post some pics of my Darton Predator II on here. It's a '96 model, 60" with 60#@28" limbs on her. I just may be looking for a trade of my limbs for a lower poundage set, if mine are a little too much to shoot comfortably. I just got it and haven't shot it yet, cuz it didn't have a string when I got it. I think maybe 55# would suit me better.

Nala, i had the hunter model and i can tell you [in my opinion] that it was one of the top 5 recurves i've ever shot. But with me [and everyone is different] i could'nt get use to the overall feel of the riser . But you may love it , i would suggest shooting it first before you buy it. Ron is a first class guy, you wont find anyone any better to deal with.
