best time to sell
« on: January 15, 2009, 09:20:00 PM »
when is the best time to sell a bow? I have a really nice bow that just isn't moving and I REALLY want a new bow!

Is everyone drained after the holidays?

Just keep trying. Sometimes it takes just the right moment or someone else's deal falling through. Good luck.

When the economy is better.  There is a lot of great bows that just aren't selling, or are selling for much less than the original asking price.  It is a tough time for people to come up with some fun money to buy non essentials.  Believe me, I know.  I think this is the longest I've gone without buying/selling/trading.  Just my opinion...Mike

Hard to sell right now, but if you are wanting a different bow, there seem to be plenty of folks willing to trade.

Early fall before hunting season. After season everyone is expecting "Close Out" Prices or they will wait till later.

I say late summer or early fall, but trading is always your best bet to move one quick. For the newer guys that don't know, I used to go thru 25-30 bows a year, most all on trading, now i shoot only RER bows. Shawn

RER's will do that for ya' won't they Shawn?  I picked up my LX last June and haven't even layed eyes on another bow since.  Maybe this slow bow market is all Kevin's fault  :biglaugh:

Tax return time is another good time to sell a bow.  Right now is hard as most have said above, but trades work out at this time of year pretty well.  Just need to make sure both parties are in agreement and are happy at the end of the trade or bows head back to original owners...

Like bowhunter4life said tax return time will be the next window. However, if it is priced right anytime will work.
Take some good pics; the fact it has been sitting for a while suggests the viewers don't agree with your price, and are being too polite to say anything.  :bigsmyl:
