I was talking to one of your fellow club members monday and the way he talked, ya'll were very lucky.  He said it went about 300 yards from the houses.

Son of Texas, otters will wander. I have a newly stocked 5 acre lake on my place, out in the woods. The nearest river is a mile away, and there are no large creeks in the area. I found otter sign there a couple of weeks ago. I hope he's still wandering! I don't need any help eating my fish.

Don...I think the wandering River Otter is the actual critter in 99% of "black panther" sightings. Black house cats are pretty common in most upland areas but not in the lower areas where a lot of "black panthers" are seen.

I've really been slacking and just hung my first camera out a week ago. This morning, a sow and her cub decided to pay a visit.....there's bears everywhere in Potter and Tioga counties this year and I half expected my camera to be torn up when I checked it this morning. Fortunately, I think she got a whiff of the rolled up dog hair inside the camera and decided not to eat it.  :)

Mom checks things out while her cub stands guard.......

Coast is clear kid. Come on over!  :)    :)

With last weeks heat wave, most of the animals went nocturnal.  But it's cooled back down and they began stirring in the daylight again. The mosquitoes are really bad right now in the high country!  But they'll soon begin disappearing and be replaced with Yellow Jackets.    :banghead:

Next week I'm hanging a treestand in this area, the elk seem to be using it often.
