Almost Snufferized
« on: January 16, 2009, 06:37:00 PM »
I went Pork hunt`n today. The swamp is knee deep in leaves and to crunchy for sneaking so I decided to hit the pines and check some newer clear cuts. I got on porkers twice and almost got shots both times.
Took a pic of the smaller grill pigs before the wind swirled. They were about thirty yards and coming.Next time...RC

Marty what time was it when those pigs were out.  Kind cold here todat about thirty miles south of you.  I got out there today at 4:45 and didnt see squat.  I know I started too late.   Just curious I'm taking my seven year old tomorrow to shoot him a piggy if we see some.

RC, If you get a big Snuffer into one please post pics.  I've been wondering if they would work for them hogs.

The snuffers will work for the pigs. I shot them years ago a lots. I started shooting Maghnus I heads and Simmons. I was camping on a hunt this year and a Buddy asked if I had used snuffers and Then he asked what bad experience made me change. I could`nt think of a bad experience.I`ve killed a lots of deer and hogs in the past with 55 lb bows and cedars probably less than 550 grains shooting dacron strings. Now around 50lbs but with 660 grains out of a more efficient bow I`m not worried. Its mostly where you hit`m.
First pigs I saw was a around 10:00 and these in the pic were around 3:30.RC

Sure is easy to forget how good something works when you've moved on to something you think is better.  Them Snuffers will do mean and nasty things to them hogs for sure.

Is it "next time" yet?
