I feel sorry for you nothern folks/ it's cold here
« on: January 16, 2009, 07:17:00 PM »
How do you folks up north deal with this cold weather? I been out all day thawing out water for our cows. I know not real cold for some but when it gets in the teens hear, It's cold. I went to the show in kalamazoo last year and it was 4 when we rolled in . I almost froze trying to get from the van to the motel. I did manage to run out and shoot a few just to say I did. Don

We tend to melt when it gets as hot as it gets down by you.    Some folks can deal with cold,  some can deal with heat, and that makes the world go round !     (  But it sure is cold !   I got a pic from an acquaintance in International Falls MN this am...  a thermometer registering -45 F ).  whoa

Yeah, I don't think we made it to the positive side of the Farenheit scale today in the Toledo area either.   :knothead:

Was hoping to try for some Yotes tonight but single digits kind of take the fun out of it.

I have a wood burning fire place in my house. We never build a fire and my wood shed is full of wood I cut ten years ago. We have a fire right now and i'm setting here enjoying it . Kinda nice to have an excuse to build a real fire. Hang in there it'll be 110 in the shade hear before you know it. DB

Truck thermometer said -21 this morning, and I don't know that it was registering correctly.  Got up to 1 by afternoon and it felt alright outside.  I will still take this over anything over 90, too hot!  Hard on vehicles though, they don't sound too good after a few days of this.

I live on a sailboat here in Jersey. I don't run any heat when I'm out, or sleeping, for safety reasons. It's been right frosty mornings. I have to get up a half hour early and crank the heaters, then crawl back under the covers till it warms enough deal with it. I usually wake up sweating though, as cold as it is in the boat. With enough blankets your body heat will keep you warm in some icy weather. I had to heat-up my toothpaste when I got home today before I could use it as it froze solid while I was at work. I like October and early November best!

HAHAHAH!!! Thats how I explained the temps to one of my out of state friends!!  I hate it when the cold gives you a sharp booger that makes your eyes water.
Just one more step please!

I am one who hates the heat and likes the cold, so I don't mind much. I love having the snot in my nose freeze  :)
