long bow pics?/ recommendations

NO Hybrids please. I want to get a longbow. 45-50# at 29 and a half inches draw length. Please show me yours! I'm thinking I'll trade my Check Mate Hunter 2 for a long bow on the buy and sell forum.

thanks a bunch!

You should really specify what you mean by no hybrids?

What about reflex deflex  longbows?

Do you mean you want a straight limbed longbow? If that is the case I think Howard Hill recommended a 68in. longbow for you.

that makes sense... thanks SP, I mean straight limbed. I'll look at the Howard Hill also.

How about this one - 60# at 29"...

I'm pretty sure this rub was left by a very nice buck I had missed the week before I snapped this picture.

The first arrow hit my tennis ball and stuck in the straw at a weird angle.  The second destroyed the first.

My how I love these threads! At your draw length I would stick with 68" or longer. A lot of great Hill style bows out there with different limb profiles i.e. reflexed, straight, string follow. If you've never shot one of these bows I recommend you do before you order as they are not for everyone as you can tell from all the discussions about Hill bows and handshock. I recommend also that you go with a string follow profile and FF type strings for your first if your handshock sensitive, and keep your arrows above 10gpp. I've shot and own many of the current bows, and to be honest they are all great bows so find what trips your trigger and go for it. Good luck! Ken

Steve Turay of Northern Mist bows is a really nice guy to work with and makes a fine straight limbed bow.  He's been at it a long time.  Chad
