After scrapin to the decided on ring, we laid out the handle on the sides, marked 7/8 along the sides from the back and thinned it on the band saw.

Mark is going to re-seal the back and dry it somemore. Then he'll continue on with his project.
This is what he went home with:

I hope that as Mark progresses with this bow he'll take pics and share with us.

I had an awesome time with 2 really nice and humble guys. Mark is heading up a youth archery group at his church and has a website that goes along with it. I didn't get his permission to post it here but I think he'll be along directly to let us know where to find it.
Bill is pastoring a small new church in the area and it was good for him to take time and come down for a little while to share his knowledge and to make new aquaintances.

Thank you to Bill and Mark for makin my Saturday fun and productive. If they hadn't come out I wouldn't have gotten my messy work benches cleaned off.

Here's what they left me with:

Thanks Kenny for taking the time to post all the pictures and not busting on me for the apron.  :D
In few days I will get back to work on it and post a few pics along the way. We will have to set a time to get together again.

I have the youth archery web site almost done. My wife and I are very excited to start our 3rd year of this childrens ministry. If any one is interested in taking a look at it here is the link.  www.youngarchersforchrist.org

Thanks, Mark

BTW Mark another good thing that came out of this is Sat. evening I changed the motor on the band saw. No more kickstarting the old one.
That motor sat around here for yrs. and it only took me about 20 minutes to change it!  :banghead:    :banghead:
Procrastination. I am the worlds worst.

Yes we do need to get together again soon!
