Jason,
My rack is pretty simple and "plain Jane", I bought it as a kit from 3R. I painted it with antique black to give it some "style".
Do a search here on Pow Wow, your question has been asked quite often and you'll see a lot of pics of some real nice and original bow racks.

I just made one that will hold 7 bows. I will right down the measurements and what to do if you want. Its cheap but doesnt look too bad.

one thing you can also do when building it. Is to beat the wood some with a link of chain or something before staining..the dings can give it a nice look

I'm not particularly handy and I don't have many tools  (or ANY time, it seems lately), but I built a 3-bow vertical rack in about 15 minutes with about 10 bucks worth of stuff from Ace. Painted to match the trim and all. I'm married.

Even covered the pegs with vinyl tubing so they can't possibly scratch my bows and capped them with drawer pulls.

Blind one, That is kinda what I was thinking about building. I thought about putting some storage on the bottom. I only need it to hold about 4 bows. About how wide is the frame and how far apart did you space the pegs? Thanks for the help, Jason
