Will be getting a Griffen longbow shortly. With the bow comes the leather wrap on the grip.I really like a wood grip. Can the leather be removed and have nice looking wood underneath?

I would give him a call and ask if he can leave it off.I think my buddy did that because he likes a shur-grip on his bows.Me I like a leather grip on my longbows, personal preference.

It may or it may not look real good. You may see where the laminations are spliced or the glue for the leather may affect the finish depending on what was used. You can always put the leather right back on if it doesn't look good enough for you but sometimes it gets messed up removing it and you may have to replace it. Again, depends on the glue used. Good luck!

Wait until it arrives and shoot it a bit.  You might just change your mind about wanting the leather off.
