Interesting Pete. Are the deer numbers pretty low up there? I've been up there fishing before but never to hunt. Beautiful, but seems like a cold/harsh environment for whitetails.

Keep em coming. Pete got any sheds yet? Score doesn't mean everything folks. Arwin that is a dandy for public land.
Flatstick-Don't be so modest, those are great looking deer.

Flatstick, you kidding? Embarrassed?! Those are fanastic bucks!! If you ever pass through Brown County stop by, please!
Nice animals everyone! I've yet to kill a big buck with my bow so nothing to contribute.

I can't believe you guys are appologizing for your bucks! Those are great bucks! And that's only a few of Flatsticks bucks! He is right up there with my other heroes like Gene, Barry, Roger, Dean etc...Taking deer like that year after year in Indiana with home made gear! Wow! And modest too!!

Your all a hard act to follow!
Here is my best to date, the best part is I had a 6 year old in a brush blind with me when it happened!
Here is a couple of Dad's first one is from 1976 (I am the one with half a head)!
And one from 95 that little guy is who was in the brush blind with me when I shotthe first one pictured!
I like those 2 picture's of dads deer one with me as a little guy and one with my son about the same age!

Great bucks, I can only dream of some of those! This is my only deer thus far with trad gear that I got last fall. It's my best buck to date.

Pete,
If those are MN deer you sure as heck aren't hunting around my neck of the woods in south central part of the state.

You ALL should be very proud of the deer you've harvested with trad gear! It's not the size of the antlers that make what we do such a cherished memory, but how we do it! Congradulations to all of us.

Biggest to date for me is just a small 10 ptr.
Check out this road kill I picked up. We butchered it and ended up with 195 lbs of boneless meat. We also found an SSG pellet lodged in the neck of this guy as well.

Steve
I had to throw out a piece of meat about the size of my fist around the back hip joint. Other then that, all the meat was good. Surprising considering that they towed away the Dodge minivan that hit it. It was right near the end of October (getting into mainstream rut activity) just a couple days before the shotgun season opened.
