Here are this year's whitetails. The top buck was a pig, 255lb live wt, 150ish 4 1/2 yr old from Iowa, Nov 4 2008. The bottom is a nice 3 1/2 yr old from Indiana, 140ish, Nov 16, 2008.
The IN buck was the second day of gunnie season - had to x-change the orange Kromer for the gray for pics!

Ryan, I read the story on the Iowa buck. Are you holding out on the Indy one?

Great bucks, congratulations. It has been a while since Texas.
I should draw Iowa this year. Talked with your dad last night.
Good hunt'n, Dennis

Nice critters everyone!!! I never get tired of seeing some of those pictures even though some have been posted a few times. My new favorite is the bruiser of Ben's! Here are my old go to pics. I would conservatively estimate that I have posted these about a billion times!
I wonder if a guy can wear out those megapixel dealies by posting too often?

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Mike
Not much of a story on the IN buck..but there never is when things finally go right. Just suffice to say - hanging around with the chicks can get you in trouble. He followed a doe under me and the arrow ended up stuck in the ground 7 yards from my tree after it went through him.
The dude that checked him in at the checking station said "Wow, that's a good buck. Most GUN hunters would even be happy with him." as he looked at me like he felt sorry I couldn't afford a shotgun or camo.
