Inside RER Bows

I visited with Kevin and Sue TerMaat Thursday and Friday to pick up some inventory to take to the Kalamazoo expo next weekend. Thought some of you might enjoy a little preview of what I will be bringing and a look at where the bows are born.....

Besides the finished bows, there are plenty of others in various stages of completion.
And plenty of raw materials for those to follow.
Kevin much prefers building bows, but this is the "business office"
Austins string making operation:
And Kevin puts them through their paces before they go out the door....

We ended up picking out 19 bows that will make the trip to Michigan. XR's and LX's dominate the line up, but there will be Arroyo's, Vortex's, and standard recurves, as well.

After leaving RER on Friday I headed east to visit Jeff Aulik of Gray Wolf Woolens. I have a bunch of vests, camp shirts, and hats, as well as a good assortment of the rest of his custom made Outfitter line of wool clothing.
Look for RER and Gray Wolf in the Prairie Traditions booth with the rest of our line up of products. Sure am looking forward to this show!

Kevin, Sue and their family are some of the nicest people I've had the oppertunaty to meet. Anyone in WI with the desire to try out an RER owes it to themselves to visit Kevin and Sue at the "factory" to see exactly what a traditional family is all about.
Make sure to give them a call first, though.
Great family, and fantastic bows.

Pretty bows, but as usual - I ONLY SEE ONE LEFTY!
Come on Whip, we make up a little over 10% of the population. Going to a show with one lefty for folks to try is just plain cruel. Especially if you sell the only one you brought in the first hour like happens so often at these shows. Geesh...

Joe, They are really great looking bows. I was checkin' out Shawn's 2 last weekend. Both very impressive shooters and lookers.....But being a lefty, couldn't shoot either.
Maybe one of these days I'll get to check one out.
Sure wish I was headed to K-zoo......

Fourth pic down, six horizontal bows down....Looks like it's dangerously straining the bow rack....
Prbably should ship that one to me stat! You feel better knowing you saved that bow rack and all those beautiful bows from falling.

Brent, actually I have three lefties that are going to be making the trip. An XR, an LS, and a standard recurve. 15% of the total - you guys are well represented!
vtmtnman, I think that is the second one from the right of the ones laying on the pool table waiting to be wrapped up. Should I get it boxed up?

Joe, Thanks for letting us tour the RER shop and a special Thanks to Kevin and Sue for showing us the eye candy...When our adoption is complete and we get some bills cought up on I would want one of those Arroyo's in the mid 40's pound range and about 60/62 " long...I keep checking out thier website and the Bocote and Zircote is my favorite flavor untill I saw the Osage ones you just posted...It will be a hard decision on what woods to get that's for sure ...Do they have a cataloge or do you just order them from thier website? I really like the riser design on the Arroyo and the shelf really sets them off...Thanks for the pics again Joe...God Bless, Keefers <")))><

The website is the place to browse. The Arroyo does have some beautiful classic lines, and what a shooter! For in stock bows you can contact me, and for custom orders you can call them directly. Always best to talk directly with Kevin so he knows exactly what you would like. I sure appreciate it though if you mention I sent you their way!
