Yeah, it was hanging on my arrow rack collecting dust.  I thought about using one of Barry's arrows but Gene's woody was purrtier:^)

Mine arrived yesterday.  I didn't get in until late last night, so I didn't have time to do much other than scan through it, but was impressed by the quality.

I look forward to starting to read through it tonight.

Thanks again, Mike.

Great job on the book Mike!  It's become one of my favorites in my collection...

Mike, I am looking forward to seeing you at the MTB Banquet this weekend.  I am almost done with the book and it is great.  You have inspired me to start chasing some of my own hopes and dreams in the way of hunting.

I finished the first read of this book, and was really impressed. Many of the stories I of his elk hunts I could relate to, and found his analogies and reasoning of some of the hunts that did not have the desired end similar to some  my own experiences and thoughts.

Great book. I have always wanted to do a solo mountain hunt, and this book is an inspiration to do it. I doubt it will be this fall, but it will happen.

Mike, I was reading mine on the flight home from Pig Gig...but due to unknown circumstances (old age & weariness) I left it on the plane in the seat pocket  :(   I have a search on it with Continental as it was signed as a collector's copy  :)   If it doesn't show up, I'll need another signed one...tippit

Left out most important part...I got the start of a Great Read!

My wife gave me my copy for Valentines day. It was supposed to be for my birthday in May, but there was no way to make it till then.

She actually gave it to me on Friday night, if I promised not to ignore her while I read it cover to cover.

I have had to go to my thirteen year old sons` bedroom and retrieve it,(TWICE) so that I can read MY new book. This is the ultimate compliment!!!

In this day and age, when a boy will grab a book and go read it on his own, there is nothing more to say.

Thanks Herdbull...indeed, "Self reliance can`t be bought"

Chris, Glad you got yours. I hope it will bring you a touch of home over there.
Bonebuster- Yes I know what you mean, and thank your son for the compliment. I hope he picks up on its OK to make mistakes if we learn from them, and that we can find success even in our own failures. My older boys have not found time to read much of it yet, but my ten-year-old grandson has read to chapter 6 already. Ha! Thanks, Mike

I ordered mine at the very beginning, it still hasn't showed up. Probably to do with Canada Customs, a dirty bunch of scoudrals they are !LOL

Just finished reading this book. Mike, you did a great job conveying what bowhunting is really all about. Reminded me a lot of some of the better bowhunting books from the 50's and 60's.

Got mine yesterday. Looking forward to reading it. Will have to wait for a while though. Too many other things in the go right now. Did read the dedication and sent a prayer.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

I finished mine on a couple nights ago and I started to reread it last night.  I have noticed when I really like a book I do this to pick up the small details that didn't stick out to me the first time through.  I am really looking forward to the Michigan Tradional Bowhunters Banquet tomorrow night to hear Mike actually talk and tell stories about some of these hunts.

Mike, Thanks for a great read. I'm a 61 year old who has just been inspired to go back to the mountains again and back pack in.  I too am in the process of going back through the book a second time. Thanks so much for your insights and shared experiences. I have been recommending the book to all my friends.  Hope to see you sometime and learn a little more about bowhunting and packing out mountain game.  Thanks again, Don
