Mike,

Email and check both sent Thursday.  Thanks again for getting a copy for me.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Dave, I'm glad your kids enjoyed the posters. In a way it links Primal Dreams to my book.

If you google "One with the Wildernes" you will get a hit on  suport link in the right side column. If you google "One with the Wildrness Mike Mitten" you will get a lot of hits as well.

Yes,  all new orders will be filled with the second edition printing, which features improved paper and over ten more full color photo pages. The book remains case bound (hard-cover). I plan to number, stamp and autograph the first 100 copies. I have a list of advanced orders and there are still many of the collector books still available. I expect my book delivery in a couple of days and will ship all advanced copies priority mail the next day. I hope to have copies at Comptons this weekend as well. Thank you for your interest and support. Mike

Mike,  I have #26 and it is fantastic.  It came at just the right time too because, after 27 years of applying, I finally got drawn for a moose tag here in Maine and we've got some of those 60+" bulls here too.  The stories of your moose hunts in Alaska are inspirational to say the least.  So much so that beside using one of my own Black Timber Longbows I am going to be using self made wood arrows and one of them will have the last of a dozen of the original Bear Razorheads on it.  This razorhead is still unused in the original Bear package that my mom gave me for my 14th birthday way back in 1958.  The first deer I ever shot fell to one of the others from the same package. I've used many other types between then and now, but now is the time to use the last of them.
Thanks for the inspiration and for the great book.

Craig

Craig – There are several threads that feature my book. You may have gotten one of the first copies of the second edition that came out mid June. As you well know, the hunt is as much about romance as anything else. I am glad you have connected to your own past through my writing. Take care, good luck and have fun this fall! Mike

Mike - I've got number 46 of your second edition and I have injoyed it so very very much.
It will take it's place along side my first edition Fred Bear Field Notes and my Glenn St.Charles, David Peterson, C. M. Sackett, and E. Donnall Thomas Jr. books as well as many other great authors I've collected. To be read over and over through the years and hopefully passed down to someone who will enjoy them as much as I have.

Thanks again for your great contrabution to our passion and love.

Mike,
Will you be at Denton Hill this year and if so will you sign a couple more books for me to give to my hunting buddies?

DJ- That is very humbling. Thanks!

Craig- I won’t be at Denton Hill this year, but I’m very seriously considering it for next year. I will be at the PBS odd year gathering July 17-19, 2009 at Ojibwa Bowhunters in New Berlin, Wis.  Whip (Joe Lasch) will also be there and I plan to autograph some books as well as my complimentary poster “It Can’t Be Bought”  for him to take to Denton Hill. He will have them in his booth so you can pick up some for your friends there. Mike

Thanks Mike.  I'll plan on doing that.  I've wanted to meet Joe anyway.  When they were called Rivers Edge, they used my Bow Bolt takedown system and it is always nice to meet folks in person that you've only spoken with on the phone.
I will be 65 in September and the uninvited slow down process that Gene wrote of not long ago is starting to get a pretty good hold on what I can do now compared to what I once could do.   So, my advice to those who have read your book and are thinking they'd like to participate in a similar manner is that they should not wait for "the right time" but do it NOW.  I have done some of what you have done (but only one deer at a time on MY shoulders) and I know that a lot of what I've done will have to surfice as dreams from the past, not of the future.  Those "dream hunts" must be accomplished as a younger man while you are still able.
I would also advise that anyone who hasn't read your book and is thinking about a "dream hunt" should get a copy and besides just plain enjoying the read they should use it to see if they measure up to the challange and as a reference to the types of things to be preparred for so the dream doesn't turn into a nightmare.  As you say in your book, the Boy Scout motto, "BE PREPARED" is a good one to live by.

Thanks again for sharring your adventures and your personality with us.

Craig

I just finished reading number 83 of your second edition.  Bought from you at comptons.  I really enjoy the way you write, made me fell like I was right there.  By and far the best "Hunting" book I have read to date.  I Thank you for taking the time to write down your experiences for the rest of us to enjoy.

I picked up my Second Edition at Compton also.  What an improvement!  More photos and they look a lot crisper on the thicker pages.

BSBD,

That does not sound like Mike.  I know he worked some very late nights last month when he received the 2nd Edition shipment to fill the backorders.  You should drop him a note to make sure something did not fall thru the cracks.  He is out of touch right now, but should be back on line next week.
