Who has Rehab bows?

I have a 45# recurve and a 50# longbow that I shoot when my shoulder starts acting up.  Gave myself a month off my heavier bow and now I am back feeling tip top.  Does anybody else keep these kind of bows around.

I might have a 30# Bear Tigercat on the rack, but thats for my wife when she wants to shoot.

Smart move IMO. You will be able to continue to enjoy the sport for a long time without long periods of downtime or surgery.

Forty-five and Fifty are my regular bows 8^).  That's probably why I don't have to rehab too often.  *^)))))).   Just funnin'.

I have everything from 20 to 110#. Normally shoot 70-80# but do drop to the 50 to 60# range when shooting small game or if shoulder is acting up. (Do to sky diving accident, not from shooting heavy draw weights.) Prefer shooting 65 to 85# range. They just feel right.

My shoulder pain isn't caused by shooting my bows.  I owe that to wrestling, MMA, and army life.  I have just noticed that continuing to shoot heavier bows when my shoulder is feeling bad invites bad form such as putting my shoulder into the string.

RER recurve at 40#, the rest of them are 45# to 55#

I often warm up with The Wife's two bows of 28# & 35# The good thing is, I can come to full draw & hold it for about a month whilst 'adjusting' my form in a mirror.
I'vefound that my shooting has improved dramatically since I started using Jules's bows to warm up with.
I usually just draw & come down 30-40 times before I shoot my own 60+ bows.

Hell, yes.  For reason I won't bore you with, I'm in the process of learning to shoot left handed, and trying to perfect my form (perfection being an interesting but unattainable goal) works a lot better when I'm not fighting the bow weight along with everything else.  35@28 is just fine for that purpose.

That is the main reason I went back to a 3 pc. takedown. Pinched nerves had me to where I couldn't shoot at all this past summer. Bought a takedown with a set of 45# limbs to get back to shooting and have added a heavier set since then. Mike

Getting over a broken arm. I borrowed a 1971 Mag riser Bear Takedown with 35# limbs. (I usually shoot 46-53lbs) I've been using it, my bowfit, weights, and Dr. Jay Kidwell's book "Instinctive Archery Insights" to get back into shape, and to "perfect" my form.
I'm in good shape, but I still need Dr. Kidwell's help in getting a good, consistent anchor!
Now if I could just talk my friend into "giving" me this Bear takedown! What a joy to shoot!

All my bows are 45 to 48 Lbs only had 1 bow over 55 lbs years ago a Jeffery Mighty Mag to much weight for me to enjoy shooting.

I just started shooting trad this fall. My bows are all in the 50# area, Except for one that is only 34#'s. On them days when I cant hit the target I go get the light one. I know its my form so I just shoot it to get back in line.
