Made my own quiver
« on: January 26, 2009, 11:24:00 PM »
I was looking at leather quivers and thought I would save some money and make my own. I used poster board to draw the pattern on and cut out. I went to the leather shop to buy the leather I needed, but they wouldnt sell it cut to size. I now have enough to do 4 more so it looks like I will get some more practice  :) .I used a tanned rabbit hide I bought at a yard sale for .25 last year. The next one will have pockets of some sort..

Cool!
I like it when someone takes an idea from start to finish.
Could you use the same pattern to carry the fletching forward?
Is that a leather lacing?

Thanks folks. Yes you can turn the top around so the fletches are out the front. If your left handed then this one would have the arrows out the front. I like mine out the back so I dont catch trees and brush with the arrows. It does have leather stitching also. As you can tell,I didnt get the holes lined up the same. I figure that just adds character  :) ...Roy

I used Sobo premium fabric glue and held it in place with the big potatochip bag clamps until it dried. I glued it on the inside and outside.  The glue dries clear and stays flexible.

Very nice.  It has inspired me to try.  I am going to have to up my coyote hunting to get a skin.
