Finished First Take-Down LB
« on: February 03, 2009, 09:59:00 PM »
Here it is tradgangers.  I am pretty happy with my first take down.  The limbs are my own design and include reverse tapers at the tips for the last four inches.

The riser woods are bocote with stripes of osage-cocobolo-osage.  The limbs are maple with cocobolo wedges under .050" black glass.  Tips have phenolic-osage-cocbolo.

The specs are 66" NTN, 53# at 28".  The mass weight is 2lb. 3oz.  It shoots pretty fast and is very quiet with DesertDude's FF string.  It is a bit too heavy for my 30" draw.  Dang, now I have to make another one.

I made the form in the fire hose clamp style and can say that I like it a lot better than the C-clamp form of my one-piece so now I will convert that one.

You bring that sucker to Bear State this weekend, I really want to shoot it, you know what I think about your bows, it looks like a low grip, how long is the riser?      :notworthy:
