They are very hard to remove because the are alittle far down inside the shaft. What I did for a few was to simply and carefully drill them out. They drill easliy because they are aluminum, find the bit that just fits inside of the shaft and then I went down one size drill bit.And then drilled through the insert and then took the first bit that just fits inside the shaft and carefully drill the remainder, some times by drill first with the smaller bit and then with the larger one it took the remaining piece of insert out. It's real thin after drilling with the smaller bit first.I also used a rubber arrow puller to hold the shaft snugly as I drilled, the ones that have a v-groove.Drill slowly and you can get them out, they are soft. This is the only way I have found that work for HIT inserts other then cutting the shaft shorter cutting them out.

put a field point in about 3/4's of the way in then heat the point and pull with pliers it might take a little bit but it worked for me on my axis fmj's

If you can fit a drill bit in the nock end of the shaft, slide one in there.

Then use the shaft like a golf club to slide the bit down the shaft (very rapidly), hitting the back of the insert.

Do this about 150 times, and the insert might come loose!! LOL.

Seriously, I had some regular carbons that I did this with, and the inserts came out just fine.  I know the Axis are skinny, so you may not be able to use this method.
