Stahl t/d recurve?
« on: February 08, 2009, 10:24:00 PM »
What can you tell me about these bows? I handled one today and can't stop thinking about it. I really didn't want to buy another bow until I saw that beauty. The grip felt perfect for me and I really liked the combination of bacote and osage.

Is there a website for these bows and what is the price range? More importantly, how do you like the way they shoot?

Dale doesn't have a website.  His bows are one of the finest shooting recurves available.  They go for $700 to $750.  I've owned four and will not be allowing my fourth one out of my house except to go shoot it or to take it on a hunt.  The bow is very smooth, very quiet and it is consistently accurate.  That description applies to all 4 of the Stahl recurves I've owned.

We have three in the family, mine, my sons, and one of my grandsons this should indicate how much we like them. Excellant shooters, workmanship one of the best, smooth shooting, and Dale is one of the finest people you'll ever deal with. At the moment I'm trying to trade my limbs for lesser poundage, older age and a touch of arthritus. Have owned his bows for fourteen or fifteen years, I've sold and traded alot of bows through the years but never considered getting rid of my Stahls hope this helps.

Thanks! I'm at least going to keep an eye out here for a used one.

Does anybody have a contact for Dale Stahl?

I still own this one:

It's kind of hard to tell from the pic quality, but the riser is figured Cocobolo and the limbs are stained Red Elm.  Sweet shooting bow.
