United Bowhunters of Illinois Banquet
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:58:00 AM »
The United Bowhunters of Illinois will be holding our annual banquet on February 28 in Springfield, Illinois.  Our keynote speaker this year will be Monty Browning.

Monty will join us at the Northfield Convention Center in Springfield, IL for the  2009 UBI Banquet.  As featured speaker for the banquet dinner, he will share his Unique Hunting Experiences: some are funny, some are serious, all are entertaining.

As an added bonus, Monty will also present a Seminar on Heavy Arrows where he will cover construction techniques and their
importance for big game.

The day's events include a vendor room, a bucket raffle and three seminars.  The evening event is the dinner, keynote and the live auction.

We are still looking for vendors to set up in our vendor room.  There is no charge for this and you can set up on Friday afternoon/evening if you need to.  We especially are looking for bowyers to set up as vendors.  We will have a bow try-out area set up in one of the banquet rooms.

We are also still looking for donations to the event.

If you'd like to set up as a vendor, donate something or attend the banquet, contact Jerry Gille at [email protected] for more information.

Proceeds from our annual banquet go right back into supporting bowhunting in Illinois, and across the nation.  We maintain a conservation fund that supports valuable and much-needed conservation efforts and we maintain the Jerry and Bettie Pierce Scholarship fund that assists students in their college educations.

We hope to see you there.

Kevin, Mike Mitten on "Solo Hunting Adventures", Steve Miller on "Idaho Mountain Lion and Bobcat Hunting" and of course as Jerry said Monty Browning on "Heavy Hunting Arrows". Look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones. Flint

I think Mike will have copies of his new "One With the Wilderness" book available, too.  Great chance to pick one up and meet a fine author!

Sounds like you guys planned a great banquet.  Wish I could make it this year.  Hopefully I will see some of you at Bill's Bowfish & BBQ in May.

I just informed Jim Ellis that due to my wifes illness I won't be able to attend the UBI banquet this year. I just wanted to thank all of you for your support and understanding. I hope you all have a great time and say hello to Monty for me. Ha! Thanks, Mike
