arrow wrap on wood
« on: February 12, 2009, 06:18:00 PM »
Howdy,

I'm going to build some wood arrows and instead of cap dipping I'm going to use arrow wraps for the first time. My question is, should I put the sealer - either gasket lacquer or tru-oil, (I'm undecided at this time.) on first or should I put it over the wrap?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you'll be happier with the results if you put the wrap on last.

Seal/Finish 'em up first then wrap. You will be very happy with how your feathers stick to wraps. I've never had one come off a woody yet, and it's been years!

Will the wraps stick on gasket lacquered shafts or would I be better off using Tru-oil?

I use Tru-oil and never had a problem with wraps sticking to them.
