Moab. Faster,Get a cocobola diamond wood riser and you got more mass weight for stability.Better grip. Better, better, better all the way. and the Savannah is not a bad bow.RC

Have shot both.  I think the Savannah is a fine bow and wouldn't hesitate to own one.  The MOAB however, is an exceptional bow!!!  From my experience, the MOAB is quieter, faster, and shock free.

What is a MOAB?

In my book the two bows can't even be mentioned in the same breath.  The MOAB all the way.  My Savannah was rubbish but the MOAB is one of the best bows out there.

the savannah is a darn fine bow.....shot better than a lot of 'customs' i've  had. Larry Hatfield and friends make a quality bow ! Never shot the MOAB so i can't comment . But you can't go wrong with the Martins. Ben

I just shot both side by side last month extensively. They were both very nice. No complaints about the savannah, but there's no comparison performance wise. The moab was head and shoulders above. Just amazing!

ok--rc has already touched on it a little.  if you could order a moab to your likings, what woods would you choose in what areas given the choices on thunderstic's website?

what is a flared riser?

I as well have shot both. But your trying to compare a Caddy to a volkswagon. I love to shoot the Savannah and consider it the best bow on Cabelas shelf. But the Savannah is a mass produced bow and the MOAB is a true custom. Jim's bows are done one at a time and no two are really alike. You can't go wrong with either, but IMO, the MOAB is by far the better choice.

Boom-I'd be careful about the Bellie comments, longbowben may get offended. It's taken a lot of years of beer drinking to get that form.   :bigsmyl:
Let me remind you all that I can get away with that, you all can't.LOL

I have a Savannah and after listening to different comments on here both good and bad I decided to shoot some more expensive custom bows to see. So I went to a trad show and shot some of the best selling higher priced bows and to tell you the truth there wasnt that much difference to warrant the price IMHO.

MOAB is more a custom, The strings that come with the savana are terrible, I use to sell them . MOAB hands down a better bow , just my 2 cents..now where is my rabbits foot >>>--->>  :)

I have to agree with T Folts. Seems like the Savannah is getting a bad rap on this thread. I have shot alot of bows and the Savannah holds it's own against any I have shot. It was a better shooting bow than most customs I have owned. It held the distance record for a year and is designed by Larry Hatfield who has forgotten more than most bowyers know today.
