Finger Tabs for 2 under
« on: February 17, 2009, 05:26:00 PM »
I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to find if anyone makes a tab for shooters like me.  I shoot 2 under. I find I get a smoother release. The tabs for 3 under have too much material. I have thought of cutting it off but its awefully thick to try sewing. Anyone have an idea where I could get one? I'd prefer a sponsor here.

G'Day,
Try using a normal split finger tab (1 up 2 down)
the type with the hole for your middle finger.Cut the upper section off and place it on your index finger (hope that makes sense), hey presto two finger tab.
Cheers Lindsay

I cut my own tabs from scrap leather I picked up from Tandy Leather for like $5.00, I get about 8 tabs from this piece of leather! You could cut your own and tweak it the way you like!

My dad shoots 2 under. uses the split finger tabs and cuts the top (index finger) off.

I had a few of these when I sold Sipsey River. Big Jim's should still have them. Call him at 229-344-6617.

Greg, I've been shooting 2 under for the last couple years. I'm switching back to 3 under...just easier on my fingers.

I had been using a S.A.M. tab. It's made for shooting split. I just trimmed mine down a bit with scissors and it works great!

I also tried cutting down several other types of tabs, just never found one I liked better than the SAM.

Greg:

Are you sure you need to trim a tab, whether a split-finger tab or a 3-under tab, for your 2-under style?

I shoot 2-under and use a conventional Black Widow 3-under tab.  I simply hold my ring finger out of the way alongside the pinkie.  The leather that would normally protect the ring finger is there but it doesn't impede anything.

I can't say how this would work with other tabs but it works great with the Black Widow which is a very high quality tab.

Hi Mark,

That is what I am doing now but occassionally when curling my ring finger back it gets caught on the extra leather. I probably should curl it before drawing but I actually do it while I draw.

I cut up a tab last night but haven't tried it. I will do that tonight.

Will see if I can find out who e.w. bateman is.

Thanks for all the help!
