« on: February 19, 2009, 12:05:00 PM »
Why is it i enjoy trading, selling and buying bows...as much as i like shooting them??
Just when i get a new bow that i love and say i'll never get rid of it.... Off it goes...Except for my Widow..(i think)  :knothead:

I have the Bow page in the classifieds set as my homepage!!!!!!   :biglaugh:   When I picked up my last bow in December, it arrived in the mail and I caught myself with the bow in my hands while browsing the classifieds within minutes, just to see what on the market!

Unless you've reached 90+ bows bought, sold and/or traded in 8+ years, you're still working on catching up.  And I'm not even close to Bob Barnes' and Bob Ferrel's pace.  Those fellas go through bows like women go through shoes!

It's a disease that I have also.  For me, symptoms are exacerbated by cabin fever.  Speaking of which.......check out the  Widow longbow   I have listed.  I'm gonna put my 60" 50# Quinn Stallion up there also.

Moving to shorter bows.

Mine is a slow progressing disease.  I have never been able to part with a bow I've owned so I have to save up and pick them out carefully.  Come fall I will have been shooting three years and I have bought 4 bows for me, one for the wife, three kids bows and have another bow on order.  Thank goodness for good deals on used bows.

When I tell my wife I'm done trading for a while, or need to sell a couple bows.
She just looks at the floor and shakes her head, She knows me too well!

I guess there are some benefits to being a custom bowmaker.  But sometimes it is really difficult to let one go.  Sometime I will test shoot a bow and try to figure out a good sounding lie to tell the customer he has to wait a few more weeks.   But,  I never do.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

You guys made me think, so I went into my bow room and counted.   I have 32  bows.   Sold one about 3 months ago.  First time in 10 years. I still miss it.  However, I'm about to go over the hill to Montana and talk to Craig Ekin.
no clue how to do this

I dont have a problem getting rid of a bow if I have never shot a critter with it but I keep thinking that my new bow may be bad luck and wont kill anything. Then when I do kill something with it I still cant seem to let the other one go because I used it for....... whatever. So far I have kept the number down to 3 but I am still a regular visitor to the classified pages.
