I'm going too second Lindsays' suggestion. Bob at Kohannah builds a great bow. I have a custom one piece Kurve from him and it's a great shooter and looker.

Don't forget Predator Bows. The basic model is right around $500.00 and shoots just as good as the fancy ones.

RER is another good choice if you do not mind waiting a little while for it.

Good luck and God Bless,
Paul

I am super happy with my Hunter II by Chek-mate.  Chose my woods for riser and limbs.  Shoots great.  I have even ordered a second set of limbs I am so happy with it.

All the choices above are good ones. but I'll suggest Mahaska, nice bows, good price and with the right choice of wood darn pretty to!!

All the vendor's mentioned already are fantastic.  Personally I can vouch for Dryad and RER, though theres a few on this list I would love to have in the stable in the future...

I will throw the Lewis Hollow in again. Chris builds an awesome 1 piece recurve. Or, if you are looking for a 3 piece his longbow riser can also be bought with recurve limbs.
