new bow 21st Century Lonestar
«

I got a new to me 21st century lonestar today. What can I say...it smokes. I`ve had a couple in years past but did`nt remember them shooting this hard. I draw 27 and this bow is 66" long and 52@ my draw. What aluminum arrows do you fellas recommend with a point weight of around 225.Any Carbon suggestions?
I been shooting a Arroyo that belongs to Chris "Landshark 160" about the same pounds and this bow is noticably faster and the Arroyo is fast.I`m hoping to "bogg" it down with about 650-700 grains and cut some big holes in hogs and deer this year along with a gobbler or two. Will post a pic or two later.RC

RC your bow is only 2 pounds heavier than my 50# Horne's Traditionalist.I draw 27"s as well. I don't know about Aluminum but I shoot Gold Tip 35/55's out of her. She likes a 28" arrow with a 175/or 190 grain head. Don't know if that's heavy enough for your liking but they smoke out of my bow.

Nice, wow, and an old Buddy and Jim one too...hang on to it!
I like the color.
Afraid to make an arrow suggestion. I have a LoneStar but it's around 40 @ 29" and I shoot aluminum out of it.( 30 1/4" 1916s w/125 gr. point)
Enjoy the bow. I really like the looks.

2016/2018 one of those should do the trick for you Robert depending on how long you want your arrow.
Great pick up, very sweet bow. Didn't think you liked them that long though.

Very nice looking J&B. Is that Osage orange on the belly? Your pet bobcat seems to be intrigued. Beautiful bow!

RC,
I just found and purchased a Jim and Buddy Lone star that looks like yours. Does yours have the Holmgaard limbs too?
These bows are great shooters for sure.
Enjoy

28.5 in Arrow length David. I bare shafted the arrow with 235,175 and 125 grain points. The 125 showed a tad weak but would even - out with fletch but I would be under my desired arrow weight.I really like to be over 600 grains no matter the poundage. I have never had a problem with penetration on deer and hogs with that weight.

Got yourself a burner, cool. 2117/2216 would be the next step. Or some ADs front loaded or your carbon of choice.

Holy cow R/C - what sort of cat is that?? It looks like a cross between a bobcat and the huge hares we get here in New Zealand. I hope you haven't gone soft on us or something - LOL

Its a Bobcat. He made the mistake of coming by at about 15 yards one cold winter evening while I was deer hunting. The simmons landshark was a little much for him.RC

I guess there are a lot of that model and color configuration out there. I just sold mine three months ago to a guy in the mid west. When I saw yours, I thought it was the one I had. Had to pull out the pics and look. They sure look alike! Enjoy your new bow! mr.chuck
