Craig; the shield cut vanes Dave uses are Marco vanes, in case you were wondering.

Sergio, what are your opinions on the 4-fletch? I've heard that it would slow the arrow down considerably, and that worries me a little. I was thinking of doing it with 4-4" shield cut vanes in a 60-120 pattern.

Craig;
     4-4in. vanes at 60-120 will work just fine. For years i fletched with 4-51/2 in. banana fletch installed at 60-120 with such a tight helical that they almost wrapped around the shaft on 2216's, i had to file my jo jan fletcher with a lrge ratail file to get the extra helical. I used to practice out to 80yds and had no problems with arrow speed! Now that i'm older and need glasses i only practice out to 60yd.

Sergio, do the shield cuts make extra noise? I talked with my father some and he thinks they'd be noisier than parabolics  :(

Craig;
     Absolutely NO NOISE at all In any Shape!! I've shortened them in, parabolic,banana and shield ,no sound from any cut! I just like the look of shield cut and I think they steer a little better.Pics soon.

Mike I use a Delta when I use a bow quiver. It's the Fred Bear quiver that most vendors sell. It has large thumb screws and I take it off on the stand. The only time I use a bow quiver is when I'm packing a stand the rest of time its a home made GFA type. For me if I have to shoot with a quiver on the Delta has been quiter than the Kwikee.

That Delta is dang near as slick! Part of the fun of ordering a Silvertip is the 10 month wait!
Boy am I getting full of it!

Hi Mike; I guess you didn't get my response to your email. sorry having computer problems off and on, am in the process of deciding on Apple or pc for a new laptop!?
      I use a kwikee quiver on most of my Silvertips and LOVE it!! I also take my quver off while on stand.As for the tiller difference shooting off the shelf or elevated rest, I personally think there is no difference because the most you could probably move it is about 1/4 inch and that amount has never made any difference with me.I Shoot a damascus Glove and triple serve my string for finger comfort.I should mention that for my 58" one piece 'Tip ,that I have never shot, i have a bear spring arm leathertop 4 arrow quiver for it.
