Ok guys.......

I thought I would add this post to this thread as it seems it should be shared with everyone here on the boards. I have posted a link below to a gallery that I made to show what I consider to be a very unique and unusual Schafer bow. In the gallery you can see that this particular bow was actually built by Paul as he explains in the letter that was hand signed by himself. The bow somehow or another made it back to Dave and it is my understanding that he skinned the limbs. I think that is really neat as it means that this bow was not only made by Paul but was also worked on by Dave. As you can see in the images the bow is flawless and it is hard to tell if it was ever really even shot. It is also signed by Paul in his usual fashion on the riser and is tapped for a Kwikee Quiver on an angle as so many of his bows were. I have some additional paperwork and correspondence that was made by Paul that goes along with the letter. I find this bow to be a very interesting part of his history and legend.  I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.

Tim

Tim was Martin the company contracted to do the Silver Ghost?

That is neat part of Schafer legacy. No compromise on quality!

I believe it was Damon Howatt at the time.........

Shows what a class guy Paul was as he never mentions a name.

My first trad bow was a silvertip. At the time it was too much weight for me and i sold it to buy something lighter. I sure wish i could find that bow now. I would spend whatever it took to get it back. Here are the only pics(low quality) i have of it.

I shoot POC's out of my 70# Silvertip.................

I might be mistaken but I think Dave has slimmed the riser down a bit.

The riser is Rosewood with a camphor burl accent stripe and the limb veneers are also camphor burl. Thanks !!! It shoots better than it looks-hard to beleive  :)

My riser on this bow is smaller by 1 1/2 almost 2 from my other Silvertip. Still heavy in the hands. I like the slimmer look.
