I have two Silvertips. The first is a bocote riser with zebra wood limbs. The other is a rosewood diamonwood riser with matching limbs, checkered grip and is FF. I have been so completely satisfied with these Tips I don't know what I could do different. I have thought of ordering another one more than a few times but I just don't feel like I can improve on the two I have................they are perfect.

Just figured it might be fun to dangle the carrot a little....

My latest Silvertip is completely finished and on its way. This is my first (probably only) 3 piece td longbow. I've got it customed just about as much as I dare...any more and a bow just gets too dressed-up to step outside. I like bows with warm woods and beautifully rugged trim...that's what this bow is all about. I usually order some kind of custom knobs for my td bows, but the longbow just seems to 'flow' a bit better without those chunky knobs. I went with brass bezels, but I have an idea. A friend of mine does custom engraving on primitive flintlock and percussion rifles. I'm going to ask him to engrave the bezels with some good design...not real dressy again...just enough to catch the eye a little.

In any event, I spoke to Dave and told him to just hold the new bow and ship it next Monday. I figure that's better than having it sit in the USMail system over the weekend. I'm in no hurry.

When it gets here, I'll shoot some decent pics for everyone. I also have to hunt down the ideal quiver for it, too.

I own two Silvertips and love them both. One of them is an original Silvertip 71@28, and I'm shooting that one exclusively now. I always dreamed of being on that list of Dave's. Instead I got the only bow that I can think of that can satisfy that hunger, a bow that Paul built. I'll shoot this bow till I can't pull 71 pounds, but I'm still young so it's going to be awhile. Until then I'll admire all your new Silvertips.        :notworthy:    :campfire:

I have more yesterdays than I do tomorrows, and to that end I'm going to enjoy some of the finest bows ever built by men...in my remaining time. I have a not-so-secret plan that I follow:

I get a bow done, and I get right back on the list! Although not Silvertips, I'm on a couple other 'primo artiste' bowyer's lists. I use the time to scheme up woods, patterns and designs. I really enjoy seeing my ideas come together in a deadly yet artistically beautiful weapon.

Apparently not very long if your first name starts with an 'A'...right Allen?

  ;)

Seriously: I'm not sure of the exact time. I'd say minimum 10 months and up to 16 possible. The only way to know is email them or call.

I seldom pay attention to the wait time anymore. I figure every day I don't have one on order is another day longer to wait. These extremely customized bows take considerable time to build.

I'm bringing this thread back to the top...

Any of you 'Tip Longbow owners care to compare your 3 piece longbow to a 3 piece recurve 'Tip? Are the grips the same? Obviously they are quiet? How is the draw? How is the cast? Just as 'fast"? Any pictures?

For a hybrid bow, they have some great lines to them. I'm looking at possibly getting one!

I believe that is the first Longbow I have seen.  That is Absolutely SEXY!!!

Can you get recurve limbs for it as well?

Daniel, his recurve riser is different from the longbow riser. So no recurve limbs for the longbow riser
