Favorite 4 blade head
« on: February 20, 2009, 06:26:00 PM »
What is your favorite 4 blade broadhead?  I'm still having a bear of a time sharpening a 3 blade head to my liking, and I want more cutting surface than the 2 blades I've been using.  I would prefer a 2 blade with bleeders that I can sharpen up on my KME sharpener.  What heads hold the best edge, most durable, easiest to disassemble (for the KME)?  Thanks...Mike

I sharpen my Muzzy Phantoms and Stingers using a KME both BHs come apart fairly easy and sharpen up real well. Phantoms have larger bleeders than the Stingers. I like them both.  Joe

Zepher Sasquatch with bleeders.  Awesom hole.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

question on the sasquatch.  What holds the bleeders in place?  Can you use only a short adapter with the bleeders in?

Eclipse
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Unless they've changed (and I don't think they have) the bleeders are held in with friction, like most others are secured. The nice thing about the Zephyrs is that because of how far forward the bleeders sit, you can use long adapters is you so desire.

Magnus Vented 125 four blade and Magnus Solid 150 four blade. Been using them for two decades, sharpen really well and hold that edge even after passing through an animal.

Magnus II with bleeder blades. They fly great, are easy to sharpen, and hold up well.
I use a file and the All-Sharp tool but I'm sure the KME would work on them.

Not sure if it's what you are looking but my all time favorite head is a Zwickey Delta 4 blade....I've got some sharpening methods on the 'How To' forum.

In most cases I'd shoot them cept big shielded hogs.....and may even try to kill my next Bison with one if I get the chance again.

I like Magnus 4 blade Stingers.  They are scary sharp out of the package, which is great, because I couldn't sharpen a BH to save my life.  I am going to give it another go at sharpening Wensel Woodsmens, but I will keep the Stingers-just in case!!!
