I used a Hunter for years and at the time thought there couldn't be a better bow... fast, stable, good looks.

I still think they are a great bow and one of the best for the money.

The late, great Jack Howard was pressed by his customer decades ago to design a 62" bow. Instead of designing a new bow or redesigning one of his originals, he chose the Howatt Hunter to carry his name and logo.... Jack was very picky!!

The design of the Hunter is basically unchanged for over 40 years.... makes ya wonder don't it?

I have 2 Martin HUNTER'S. I bought a 50#'er at the archery shop then I bought a custom Martin HUNTER. I am pleased 100% with both bows. The bow I bought from the shop off the shelf is a little more draw then whats written on the limb but the custom bow is within 1 pound of what I ordered. Any other questions about them just reply and I'll get back to you.

hard to beat a Hunter. Some of them in the late 70's or so had a pretty big grip area, but most of them are just right for me. You can find excellent used ones in the classifieds from time to time.

I've owned a lot of custom bows but they are all gone and my Martin Hunter is all that's left.  Mine's a 2008 model and I really prefer the riser and grip over the older models.  Great bows, especially if you want a functional piece of equipment and aren't too concerned with aesthetics.

Alot of bowyers have copied that bow design over the years. Whats that say? They are great shooters and have taken many an animal.

I have one I bought about 5yrs ago. This was my first trad bow and I will probably never get rid of it. Very stable and scary quiet. Just seems to shoot so good.

That was the first trad bow I bought back in '95.  I killed my first 10 deer with it, in 2.5 seasons.  I still have it.  It's now my bowfishing bow.  It's lost about 8-10 lbs. of draw weight, but probably because the only time it's been unstrung in 14 years is when I was changing the string.

Had a Martin Hunter for years was my only bow for a  long time.  For a production bow one if not the best.  It was sold a few years ago. I've bought a couple of custom bows, which I like better and I didn't need the Maritn any more.  New prices are a little high for a production bow in my opinion but then prices are higher on lots of things.

I have 2.  A used Damon Howatt Hunter #50 and a used Martin Hunter #45.  I bought them both here.  Both of these bows were major bargins in my book.  Smooth, fast, a pleasure to shoot.
