T/.D Longbow

I'm thinking of purchasing a T/D long bow, 3 piece.  Give me some suggestions based on performance.  I have eliminated the 3 piece ACS just because I refuse to wate three years for a bow.  And if you have pictures, then that would be great.

I have a Morrison Shawnee with two sets of Dakota limbs that I like a lot.  Very smooth, quick and quiet.  IMO, there's not a better 3-piece out there.

Why 3-piece rather than 2-piece, such as Black Widow builds? They require no tools to assemble or take apart, and maintain the sweet thin lines of the longbow. Just curious.

I'm also a two piece fan. I just like the traditional look. Take a look at the Fox and Navajo bows. Ron King of Fox and Roy Hall of Navajo both do outstanding work and are great to work with. I have a Navajo Apache TD that I am very pleased with. If I'm not mistaken I recently saw a Arctic Fox TD in the classified section on Stickbow. I've only seen two of these for sale used in the last three years. Good luck.

Custom Sapphire longbow. 3 piece takedown. i have pictures that i'll email you if you give me your address. i don't understand why we can't post pictures here without them being on a webserver somewhere. never seen a site that wouldn't let me upload from my own harddrive.  

anyway, the Sapphire longbow that i just received a couple weeks ago is fast, quiet, no hand shock. and the craftsmanship is awesome, i think. i shopped around alot before buying.

Ernie with Sapphire is not as well known because he hasn't been doing it as long as alot of the more popular guys and he doesn't have a website. but he sent me pictures of a bunch of bows he built so i went with him. in my opinion, i couldn't have bought a better bow at the price he's currently charging. he will be raising his prices someday because he should.  

again, send me your email address and i'll email you pics of my bow and the other bows he sent me pictures of.  he does outstanding work.

The reason is the amount of server space pictures eat up. The site isn't a commercial one, just a bunch folks that share a passion.

joe vt... sorry. i didnt' mean to say i didn't post pics because i was concerned about server space. i would love to post pics of the bow and advertise for the bowyer who built it. he deserves recognition. i just couldn't find a way to upload pics to this forum and i don't have them stored on a public server somewhere to link to.

anybody who wants pics of Ernie McKenzie's 3-piece takedown R/D longbows email me. i have picture of probably 10 or 12 bows he's built including mine. i'll reply with pictures.

I'll agree with Herry.  Ernie brought a couple of his bows to my place along with a chronograph, and we shot them next to a very well-known, highly desired, endless wait list bow that I have...and Ernie's was just as fast.  We were not using the same strings, and the bows had slightly different feels, etc., but at the end of day I ordered one--without a moment's hesitation.  Ernie does his homework, his craftsmanship is excellent, and his prices are a howling deal.

I'm not sure what's meant here, but suffice to say that there are NO server space issues here at Trad Gang, and posting pix from any other server ain't one bit of a concern!  Post ALL the pics ya want, just make sure to keep them no wider than 640 pixels (for viewing ease).  

So, now where's them bow pics of yers?    :D  

There are tons of great T/D longbows out there.  Here's my latest (and my last, ever), a Horne Combo Longbow in goncalo alves and bamboo ...
