NE turkey hunt, date is set!
« on: February 24, 2009, 07:38:00 PM »
I will be heading to Nebraska on April 1st! I will meeting up with a fellow tradganger and hunting the archery only season. Got a camping spot and a wall tent w/a wood stove lined up and am getting my gear lined out. Psyched up to say the least. If all goes well I plan to hunt for 5 days and if the good Lord's willin' FINALLY take a bird (or two) with the recurve. I'll be packin' my 62" Rose Oak Tomcat w/53#@28" limbs. Beman 400s with 125 gr. Snuffers mounted on 75 gr. adapters. One of my buddies is going with me and it will be his first out of state hunting trip. I haven't taken a vacation of any kind since 2003 and I am ready for some time in the woods with a good bow and good friends! Better head to the garage and sharpen some Snuffers! Mike

Glad to see you got it all worked out Mike! Let us know how you do!
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Dan, I got the pics and no it isn't a joke. I got the "blessing" on this trip from my daughter. I will be in NE on her 27th birthday. It will only be the second time I have missed her birthday.....last time I was working in Oklahoma. I DO have to take her out for dinner the weekend before, but I was gonna do that anyway! Thanks to all for the "good lucks" and I will take alot of photos and post when I get home. Mike
