Every one from Michigan
« on: March 15, 2007, 12:06:00 PM »
Hello Guys,
I think some time this summer if we get any time we should have a big fun day where we shoot and have fun.I would like to know where we should have it and where all you guys are from.
I just like to see what you guys think
I still don't know how my summer is going to turn out.

Cody that sounds like a great idea.  I am from Holland and if we get something rolling I am sure my dad would attend as well.  He is from Flint.  If we do something like this we should see if we can find someplace in the middle of the state so we can minimize the drive as much as possible for everybody.  We will wait and see what others think.

I will be at Compton.  I am going to try and make this the first year that I camp out there.  I usually just drive down Saturday but I hear I have been missing out on a lot that goes on at night.

It sounds like fun. Just don't let Cody borrow your arrows. He tore up 2 of Kelly Peterson's arrows with a Robin Hood the other day in Illiois. A few months before that he cuts a ribbon with an arrow and wins a custom bow. What's next with this guy. Sure wish I could shoot like that.

Some of the "powers that be" at my club, the Oakland County Sportsmen's Club, have been pushing me to set up a Traditional Weekend.  Not really well centered in the state, but if you guys want, I can pursue it.  Also, like most of you, I'll be at Compton's.  I've also been whispering in Terry's ear about setting up a TradGang table at Compton's where could check in and perhaps hook up with each other.  A few whispers from you guys might help make that a reality.  If we get such a table, I'm sure he'll need help manning it.  I've already volunteered a couple hours and I'll set up a display of some of the wingbone calls from the exchange.

I live up in the north west corner of the lp, Petoskey.  I would love to hook up with some other trad guys.  I'll start working on a shoot up in the great north for late summer

I'm from Southeast Michigan. I will not be at Compton but I will be at ETAR in PA. Maybe we could all get together and stump shoot or something in Michigan?

I would love to come, center part of the state would probably work out best for most. I would suggest latter in the summer as June is full of Traditional Shoots.  Whatever is agreed on, I will try my best to be there.

I could probably arrange it here in Stanton. I have a 60 target three d range right here in town. There's also indoor and techno at the same archery store. Robslift just shot there with me a little while back maybe he'll shime in on this also. If memory serves me right him and Jeff (anoited archer) are hosting a gig there sometime this summer anyway and if my memory can really serve me they have the place booked for it.

You should have seen the look on Kelly face when I went to give his arrows back.

I will be at Compton, would not mind going to Oakland County and or Stanton.  Stanton is pretty central part of the state?  We are hosting the Christian Bowhunters of America National shoot July 27th - 29th in Stanton?

I'll be there Jeff. Steve, that might work out I'll be in touch. Oakland county is ok with me, 2.5 to 3 hour drive, but for many up north that can be a 5 to 6 hour drive.
