abowyer broadhead

Got a set of the Brown bear heads in the mail, Look like a strong head, good edge on them right out of the pack. The inserts that I bought for them don't seem to fit. The taper is right, but the insert goes to far up in the head. The inserts are the 35 grain aluminum.
Has anybody else had this trouble.

35 grains, sounds like you have 5/16" broadhead adapters. I believe the A-bowyer heads are build on a 11/32" ferrule. If your shaft diameter is smaller then 11/32" it willstill work.

I am shooting the grizzly sticks, the brass insert on the end of the arrow is hitting the back of the broadhead instead of the adapter.
Do I need different adapters?

Hello Jeff, Brian from Abowyer here, Yes you will need a different adapter. You likely have 5/16 and will need 11/32. The 5/16 are good on smaller diameter carbons but as you already know they are to small for the larger diameter arrows. Did you buy the heads thru a friend becouse I dont see you name in our files ? I did send some packs to a Matt H in Alaska not to long ago and if my memory serves me he said one pack was for a friend.
Anyway give us a call at 616 677 5850 or send me an email at
[email protected]
with a ship to address with the qty you bought and I will get some of the correct ones on the way ASAP.
Thanks

Are the Brown Bear Broadheads seasonal? I've been using the Grizzly for decades and I'm toying with the idea of giving the Brown Bear a try. I'd been hoping that Grizzly would have fine tuned the bevel closer to correct by this point so they'd be easier to get up and running out of the pack. Maybe the competition will get them moving:) Everytime I get ready to make an order on the Brown Bear I get gun shy because you'll only show a pack or two available. As an example, right now you show that they are unavailable. Is there a certain time of year you guys gear up for a production run?
Thanks,
Daddy Bear

I got a batch of the BB myself for my son and me to shoot hogs and maybe an Elk. I'm ready-the animals are not! LOL!

Daddy Bear, We are running low or are out of a couple of the styles right now, however we are running batches constantly and we will have stock of the brown bears and the other models in four weeks give or take. We are taking orders and filling them on a first come basis when the heads are complete. Feel free to give us a call and we can get you set up or get your name on the list if the heads you desire are out.
Thank you

Molson, The Large Boneheads are in stock both right and left hand. The Brown Bear and the Wapiti have been the hard ones to keep in stock but we are working on that and it wont be an issue for long.

Just ordered 2 sets of the Brown Bear. Larry Hanify said they were shooting them thru 7-ply and it wasn't hardly slowing down!

Looks like I'll be making that call tomorrow for some right bevels!
