A Cold Afternoon of Stumpin'
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:28:00 PM »
What a difference a day makes! Friday we were sweating in light cloths....

Yesterday it was downright cold and getting colder by the minute!

As you can see we still have some snow in the shady and north facing hills.....

I decided to outfit a pack for him to carry on our outings. All the needed items, TP, his custom "Jeremy knife" and backup pocket knife, headlamp and back up flashlight, rope, water bottle, snacks, compass, lighter, etc....he thinks it's pretty cool.

"Juuust a bit outside".....

Gotta work on getting him some weaker wood arrows...

We have to work on his camera skills(one of about five pix with no head)....

This pic showed me something we have to work on....his head is in an opposite tilt than his upper body and bow getting eye away from being over the arrow....

We ran into a couple ice fisherman....

The spot is a cool little funnel, but with few deer around it's hard to justify hunting there. But there are some bucks around...

Snack and water break....

Bingo!

Luv this pic....

One we both got.....

You can see his opposite head tilt here too. But as he pointed out..."I hit it though"...

Almost dark,it was time to head home. One last rub...

I really enjoy your posts with you and Cade. I can tell it's something you want to do, not something you feel you have to do. Your time is the best thing that you can give your kids.

Awesome Curt, you're lookin' good Cade!!!  I wish we didn't have a foot and a half of snow here, (with more coming), I'd be right out there with you, for now we shoot in the driveway.....

Very nice.  I am hoping my daughter keeps showing an interest, and making progress as she has lately.  I'd love to post some similar precious memories.
