fletching/ feather supplier
« on: March 01, 2009, 11:25:00 PM »
im setting myself up with a stock of everything i need to build arrows. i just started fletching arrows on my own w/ a bitz. jig i won at a local pro shop. i can buy feathers at one shop in town but i was wondering where everyone buys theirs?? i dont need a 100 feathers at a time but i would like to keep a stock of about 3 dozen in the colors i use and maybe a dozen fluflu cut feathers. 3rivers looked a bit higher than kustom king...but i also found a site called archery warehouse? seemed cheaper than both. 15.00 for 50 feathers( gateway) didnt say how much trueflight was. which thats what i been using. so tell me how and where you guys get yours.

thanks

Support the sponsors here bud....go to the top of the page and click on the "Trad Gang sponsor list" drop down menu....a lot of great folks to deal with!

I think you'll find that Truflight and AMG are better feathers...we have sponsors that carry both

I agree with Curt. When ever there is a choice go to the sponsors list.
I'll put in a plug for the Nocking point. Mike is first class.
When it comes to fletching it has always been one of the more expensive parts of the arrow but important. I like buying in the 50 count now used to be in the 100's. I use a lot of fletching for kids arrows. so i start with full length and chop one for me and one for the kids.

I'll second what Guru said about Trueflite and AMG feathers being better than Gateway.  Seems to me the foot on each feather is ground a little more consistent resulting in a better bond with the arrow shaft.

Braveheart Archery is a TG Sponsor and a great source for AMG feathers.
