That's a fact Jamie!    :campfire:

Frank, I only have the one forge buddy!  Everything gets done in it.  It's only a 4" blade and that mini-forge I sent you should be good out to 5" or so... Now you know why I haven't made a pisticker yet!   :)

I *should* be on my way to TX right now.  My flight was cancelled.  So was the one I tried to get on earlier and the later one.  Nothing is available tomorrow... the earliest I could get down there is Monday night!

Jeremy,  I just saw this post and I had to gasp!  That is one beautiful knife.  I'm only sorry your not on your way to Tejas to bloody it for me  :(

Now I have to scrap all my plans for a knife for you and start being more creative.  Your finish work exceeds just about everyone here.  I guess that's why I keep my forging marks & rough look in my blades  :)  That is a total surprise.  Thanks so much.  See you soon hopefully after you return from Landry...Doc

PS:  Congrats on the bow...I mean boy on the way  :)

That sucks Jeremy. But you could beat out your frustration on another knife this weekend. (hint, hint)  :)  Are you flying Jet Blue? They turned into real pansies after that meltdown last month.

Doc, hope you had a great time in Tejas!  I'll be heading to the G1 thread soon... got to live vicariously through someone!

Anyone can grind away all traces of forging marks, but to leave them there puts your bladesmithing skills on display.  It's a declaration of "Look at how I made this!"  Leaving them makes it hard to cover up mistakes and takes a great amount of skill...

which is why I grind and polish my knvies!  ;)

Naw, Your style is different but your finish is perfect!  Can't thank you enough...Doc

PS:  When is the baby due?  I have been thinking about something different in a knife that might just fit.  You make too may beautiful hunting knives so you need something different  :)   Molly & I could have used it 29 years ago with our first born.  Do you & your wife play cards?  Doc

Too many hunting knives?? Are you feeling ok?    "[dntthnk]"   Must be the jet lag  :)

The baby is due late July.  Lots to do before then - including building a workshop next month with dedicated space for a decent sized forge!  We do play cards... Now you've gone and got me all confused  :D

both you guys are some of the best blade makers on here. Congrats jeremy on the blessing. And so when I fire the forge up and put a blade in they come out like yours?   "[dntthnk]" <><
