Thinking positively - Traditional trophies??
« on: March 02, 2009, 07:36:00 PM »
Wondering if you guys have or know of ways traditional hunters have commemorated their first (or some...or all) traditional bowkills to maybe distinguish them from their other trophies ("other" weapon not important)?

If it's a dumb question, forgive me.

Thanks.

Pics, arras, hides bone.The coolest thing is when you can use a part of an animal you killed such as hides for quivers, antlers and bone for knife handles, feathers for fletching.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Jeff, as you know this past season was my first traditional season and I killed my first deer with my Longbowas well as my 1st buck ever with a bow. I told myself no matter what I kill its going on the wall! Well I should be getting my buck back here in June! I can't wait!

With my wheelie bow, I have a 153 inch buck on the wall.  My first deer with my curve is my greastest "trophy".  It's what you want it to be.

Framed pictures.  Take a good quality photo of the moment, in the woods, before you gut the animal.  Make it look nice and frame it and put it on the wall.  You can also have a mount done of the animal buck or doe, or whatever it turns out to be.

All of my trophies and mounts have been with Traditional gear so that is an easy one for me.
