New Bush Bow
« on: March 08, 2009, 08:40:00 PM »
Just got my new Bush Bow, I love it! It's a sweet shooter, a deadly work of art. Jerry told me 4 to 6 weeks to get it and it came in 5; great service and awesome craftsmanship. Red Elm limbs and Cocobolo riser. Right now I am experimenting to find the right arrow weight / spine.

Love Cocobolo and a light wood and elm is a great choice for that.

Thanks all for the compliments. Ghost Dog I read your previous post. I love the osage on your bow!
It was the traditional simplicity as well as the beauty that got me wanting one. Mine is 62" 54# @ 26" I am shooting easton 2018 legacy's with a 125 gn point and an extra 40 gn weight behind the insert for a total weight of 575 gn. I tried various FOC weights and the 575's seem to fly the best. Before I was shooting a longbow with more of a contoured grip so the straight grip is challenging; when I focus on keeping my palm down into the grip I shoot even more accuratly and consistently than with my other longbow

The straight grip on Great Northern bows is my favorite. I have shot and owned a lot of highly contoured grips and I would not go back!
