I started my traditional (Feb. of 2007) journey after 23 years of shooting a high wrist compound.
I always liked the way a longbow looked so when I made the switch I bought a Martin Savannah. It has a locator grip but is well...a longbow grip, now I know why all latest compounds have low wrist grips. At the tail end of the first year I bought a Kota Kill-um recurve, 50's style recurve with a longbow style grip. Loved it and could switch back and forth no problem. Ordered another Kill-um last summer and got it in January and haven't gotten to shoot it much but love it.
Well then I met JD from Whisperstik last year and hunted some with him last fall...talk to him a lot and he let me in on his latest project. It’s a three-piece takedown that you can get with either LB or RC limbs or both. It was a no brainer and he hooked me up with this:
I have the best of both worlds now...I just got it this weekend and I've only shot the longbow limbs so far, I've shot the recurve limbs on another one of his though.
I will continue to shoot the longbow limbs for a while and then start shooting the recurve limbs.
I can switch back and forth no problem…my Savannah has a smaller radius than my Kota’s but I can convert easily. The Kajika Stik is always going to be the same, switching shouldn’t be a problem at all.
