I have had a little time to build a couple of stock bows.  They are both grey actionwood and $620 tyd after the 10% stock bow discount.  Plus I decided to put them on the powwow because everyone is always asking to see pictures for ideas.  Here are the bow specs.

Are the bows pictured with longbow limbs or recurve limbs?

JD, those are gorgeous. I really like the 58" 62#er.

BTW, I've got another day's worth of planing to go, so glue-up will be Monday. We're definitely going to make it before opening day on your rod. Now I need to get a couple of more orders in so I can afford one of those.

Kevin-  I'll keep that one that you like tucked away in a safe place.  I planned on keeping that bow around to play with for a while.  A few days of fly fishin' might make a good trade.  Or even maybe some deer chasin in Maine with some stick bows.  I'm sure you don't get to hunt much with your clients.  This client would bring the video camera and let you take the first shot. im at work too...wishing i was in bed.  im suprised JD is up past midnight!  last yr when he was up bear hunting i snuck up on his tent at 10pm and made some threatening comments. note to self...not a good idea to challenge 3 MI rednecks to fight

I know what you mean Pete. When he's was deer hunting with us last year he was in the sack by 9:00 PM. We did some funny things to him while he slept.(although I'll never tell) Never be the first to bed at deer camp.

 Man, ya know ya got a free trip whenever you want. Fishing, hunting, canoeing, whatever you want. I don't charge my friends for a fun trip. Just get yourself here, get your license, and I'll take care of the rest.

A buddy of mine has a small lodge in Concord Twp., where the 2nd heaviest whitetail ever killed came from. In fact, the buck was killed about a mile from where his place is. Plus, there's plenty of places to fish within an easy drive.

Let me know when you have the time and I'll set it aside.

Josh, it probably wasnt a good day to be pulling practical jokes considering the 3 small town MI boys were in a state of shock.  little did i know but there was a gay pride festival going on in town. ten thousand gay activists in town for a gay pride parade. i took my bear hunting guests down to the main drag in town for supper. well, we were right in the heat of all the festivities!! traffic was bumper to bumper and as we slowed to a stop some 6'5" blonde haired cross dressing drag queen walked up to the car and made eyes at JD...he/she/it was all decked out in fish net nylons and the works. so needless to say it might not have been the night for practical joke when the MI boys were probably a bit out of there element

Anyhow, those are some nice looking bows you have there JD. If I ever make the move onto recurves I definately know where to go..

 Turns out you're correct, my mistake. But even so, here's an excerpt from the writeup:

"It was three days before a scale large enough to handle a buck of this proportion could be found. Once this great buck was hoisted up in front of several witnesses, including state sealer of weights, Forrest Brown, the giant deer pulled the scales to a whopping 355 pounds. It was calculated that Hinckley's buck had an approximate live weight of 488 pounds. Several measurements were then taken which included: neck girth - 28 inches, body girth behind forelegs - 47 inches, greatest girth - 56 inches, and a total length from antler tip to rear hoof of 9 1/2 feet. "

Still, a heck of a deer and I have a treestand in the apple orchard right over the ridge from where it was shot        

BTW, when I was stationed in ND, I helped a friend's dad drag out one heck of a big doe over on the MN side of the river. Never did get a weight on it, AFAIK. It was like dragging a Shetland pony.

Also, you'd have to search hard and far to find a better recurve or a nicer guy to deal with than JD and his Whisperstiks. I have one with plans for several more.
