Lamp liquid as bow finish??
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:47:00 AM »
Ultra pure says it's 99% pure liquid Parrafin. Could this be used instead of melting parrafin for bow finish?

Sounds good, but I'm afraid it would never dry.

Try some on a piece of scrap wood Kenny and let us know (1) ease of application (2) dry time, (3)water proofing abilities.Who knows you may be on to something.

Kenny, wouldn't the wood still need to be heated so it will absorb better? Would be easy if it works.   :p

Liquid parafin is not the same as the parafin wax.  Liquid parafin is kerosene.  I doubt it would be a good finish.
