New to me Super Shrew: Wow
« on: March 14, 2009, 10:54:00 AM »
Just purchased this from a really nice fellow Tradganger.  My expectations were very high for this bow. I must say, it is all that and more.  For those who have shot Shrews I need say no more.  For those who haven't....don't order one, you'll make the wait longer for me when I get the funds for my second.    ;)

Tim, that's a pretty early one, looks like #2, made in December of 1997, 56" 56#@ 26"...     :saywhat:

Great memory, and really good records!

It must be gratifying to be producing as many bows as you can these days, and still see your efforts of 12 years ago being enjoyed anew.  Must be doing SOMETHING right!

Tim,

How do the draw weights compare on the Cheyenne and Shrew?  Can you tell anything about the relative performance?

I would assume that the Cheyenne might be a couple fps faster with the same bow poundage and same arrow, but who knows?

What I am wondering is if you would order a Shrew a few pounds heavier if you wanted to match performance with a familiar Cheyenne...

I need to get out and shoot!

Hey Daryl,

The Cheyenne is 50 @ 26 and the Shrew is 56 @ 26.  They both shoot 2016's with 210 gr. Silver Flames very well (when I do my part...I am not a seasoned shooter).  For me, the Shrew seems to point and shoot where I am looking a little better.  Both are quiet and solid.  I expected maybe a little hand shock from the light weight Shrew...gladly, not the case.  Two very different bows, both masterpieces and excellent examples of these makers' fine craftsmanship.    :clapper:
